Every choice we make -good or bad- adds more pages to our story and I would much rather have a lengthy novel than a short story. The ones full of bad decisions and love and loss are so much better anyways
If you haven’t read Conversations in Love by Natasha Lunn, you must. She talks a lot about leaning into the mystery of life and how to deal with the outcomes of our decisions (or things that happen totally randomly even moreso- such a break up or loss of a loved one). I will never forget this one phrase from the book, “I will never know another way” and I say it to myself constantly. It’s a good reminder when I think of all the different ways in which something could’ve worked out
